The very last thing Richie wants to do today is go shopping. But Bev had asked, said she needed help finding stuff, so Richie's there anyway. He could be at the arcade. He could be hanging out with— and maybe even kissing— Regan.
Christmas isn't for weeks, so he doesn't see the point of doing this now when there's still time. But he's tagging along anyway, carrying a few bags for Bev as they head to the next store in the mall that she wants to check out. They don't hang out as much these days as they used to, even now that they go to the same school, and there's a part of him that feels guilty for that. They're Losers, and nothing is supposed to come between them. Not school or new parents or girlfriends or boyfriends.
He wishes they were hanging out at the arcade instead, though.
"I think you've reached your limit on parsels, my good Lady! It may be time to retire for the evening, wot-wot," Richie says, putting on a Voice, if only because he's pretty bored. This sucks.

Shopping is a good way of getting out of her head, actually, a welcome distraction from some of the shit that's been weighing on her, and while she's sure this isn't Richie's favorite way of spending an afternoon, he's at least been a good sport about it.
"I just want to check this one last store," she promises with a grin. "Then we can go get food or something."

Date: 2020-01-14 11:14 pm (UTC)"Do you think Regan would buy something?" he asks, dreading her answer. Because he hadn't even thought about having to buy her something for Christmas, but that's probably what you're supposed to do with girlfriends, right? Shit. He's fucked. He's seriously fucked.
